Daiwa Foundation Art Prize
Background
Marcus Coates was announced as the winning artists on 16 June 2009.
The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation is a UK charity, established in 1988 with the generous support of Daiwa Securities Co Ltd. Its purpose is to support closer links between Britain and Japan in all fields of activity, including the visual arts.
In its 20th anniversary year, the Foundation is launching a visual arts prize, the Daiwa Foundation Art Prize. The Foundation is seeking to offer artists a unique opportunity to gain an insight into Japan’s visual art sector. In the Prize’s inaugural year the Tokyo-based Tomio Koyama Gallery will be their partner organisation.
